Ey ḫaṭṭ-i yâr her ṭarafa nâmeyi ṭaġıt
ʽUşşâḳıñ işi bitdi bu hengâmeyi ṭaġıt
Eşcâr-ı kûhsâr baña ḳol ṣalub dedi
Uryân-ı ‘aşḳ olub bize gel câmeyi ṭaġıt
Bir noḳṭanuñ ḥaḳîḳatıdür çün ḥurûf-u kevn
Ey ḫâce ‘ârif ol varaḳ-u-ḫâmeyi ṭaġıt
Gül mevsiminde bâdeye fetvâ dilerse ḫalḳ
Eknâf-ı dehre bir nice ‘allâmeyi ṭaġıt
Şâh ol Ḫayâlī kişverine muṭmaʽinnenüñ
Tîġ-i himemle ʽasker-i levvâmeyi ṭaġıt
Oh decree of the beloved’s young beard, broadcast the message everywhere
“The lovers are dead and gone”, broadcast this tumultuous cry
The mountain trees reached out branches to me and said
“Become naked for love, come to us and cast your garments away”
When the ideal alphabet of worldly existence is but the truth of a dot
O learned one, be wise and cast away both leaves and reed
n the season of flowers, if the people beg a fatwa permitting wine
Let a host of the greatest scholars scatter to every corner of this earth
Become King, Hayâlî, of the land of tranquil-mindedness
With the sword of (holy) patronage, scatter the soldiers of blame
